The project “Providing Family Planning Services in the Slums of Sylhet City Corporation for a period of 51 months” aims to provide quality health care in Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) by the poor. The project provides family planning services at the door step of the slum dwellers of Sylhet. It implements the project under the authority of the Directorate General of Family Planning (DGFP), Health Education and Family welfare under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The project funded through the Family Planning Field Services Delivery operational plan. Shimantik gets reimbursement for pay for doorstep services offered by FP volunteers, for weekly evening satellite clinics, for capacity building, quality assurance, training, research, workshops and support the coordination of FP services in Sylhet city for
the project period of 4.5 years (April 2018 to June 2022). In addition to reimbursement, DGFP provides contraceptive supplies, client registers and forms, coordination, monitoring, and the provision of trainers. In addition, DGFP will reimburse compensation package (wage loss, travel cost etc.) to the Long Acting and Reversible Contraceptive (LA & RC) users through the NGO implementing the project.
