Shimantik has been implementing its Malaria Control Program in Kanaighat upazila of Sylhet since in 2008. The project is funded by GFATM through BRAC. The main objective of this project is to detect Malaria patients and reduce the incidence of the disease. Besides this, other aims of the project are to diagnosis in correct way and give effective treatment 90% malaria affected people and to increase the participation & coordination of local population, local organization & respective organization in the implementation & management of malaria control program. It has been identifying malaria patient through necessary diagnosis, providing treatment, referring for better treatment to GOB health facilities, making awareness raising activities among the community, distributing mosquito nets to the poor family. The project will continue to December 31, 2020.
